Crown Reduction and Tree Thinning
Is a process of removing secondary branches from the crown to cut back the crown density which leaves you with more balanced growth and an aesthetically beautiful tree. On top of the aesthetic benefits this process enables wind to pass through the trees canopy more freely adding a degree of protection in strong winds.
In lay mans terms crown lifting is where we increase the clearance beneath the canopy by removing some of the lower branches.
Reduction / Reshaping the crown
This process involves reducing the overall size of the crown by removing some outside branches and trimming to more suited growth positions.
This remedial treatment is performed to remove many defects such as rubbing or crossing branches and diseases such as dead wood. Crown cleaning can enhance photosynthesis by allowing more light into the canopy.
